Cyber Consultant Co.Ltd. today announced that it developed FootChecker that helps customers of shoe retail to select shoes perfectly fit for them and discover deformities of their feet or asymmetry of their body.
About Selection of Close-Fitting Shoes *
Judging the tight-fitting shoes only by their size is out of date. To select them you must know your exact shape of your feet.
There used to be devices which scanned feet to choose the right shoes. But they did not come into wide use, because they were too expensive and took a long time to finish scanning. FootChecker we have developed is inexpensive enough for average shoe stores to introduce and instantly gathers data on feet as it uses a camera.
FootChecker analyzes high resolution images of feet and works out length and width of soles, pressure distribution map, angles of toes, hallux valgus and digitus quintus varus, etc. These data enable customers to select the best shoes quickly.
If customers permits, the images are sent via the Internet to the database of Nagae Laboratory, Kinki University. Prof. Nagae studies the relation between foot shapes and various properties, such as age, sex, occupation, stature, weight and so on. The database is very useful to shoemakers.
We are planning to establish a comprehensive shoe database so that customers can buy shoes fit for very special foot shape on the Internet.
About Health Check *
FootChecker can detect and measure the degree of such deformities as hallux valgus, digitus quintus varus, flat foot, callus, corn, etc. We are planning to tailor shoes, especially insoles to meet their special requirements.
FootChecker is also useful to measure the difference of left and right foot pressures so as to detect the asymmetry of bodies, the cause of various diseases. If your body is asymmetric, you are apt to burden your knee with extra weight to keep your balance and thus get to suffer from gonalgia, your neck gets distorted and thus get to suffer from shoulder discomfort and so on.
FootChecker is not the proper medical instrument but it surely helps to detect thses diseases.
